In the spring of 1996, God gave a vision
to Evangelist Samuel Roy Johnson, Sr. That vision to assemble
God’s children for praise and worship became a reality.
On January 19, 1997, the first meeting to assemble the Living
Water Full Gospel Baptist Church came to order at 4:00 pm
at the home of our founder, Pastor Samuel Roy Johnson, Sr.
and his wife. Sis Wanda Lee Johnson supported her husband
in the vision. The remainder of the year was spent preparing
and planning to bring forth God’s vision for His people.
Supernaturally led by the Holy Spirit, Pastor Johnson was
able to see beyond numbers, nationalities and finances. He
kept the faith that God would abundantly bless this ministry.
Pastor Johnson said, “The mission of Living Water Full
Gospel Baptist Church is to ‘Serve & Save”
the lost souls of our Lord & Savior.”
November 23, 1997 Living Water opened its doors at the Blairwood
Elementary School located at 1241 Blairwood Avenue, Jefferson
Township, Dayton, Ohio.
July 12, 1998 the church moved to the YMCA, located at 4415
Dayton-Liberty Road, Jefferson Township, Dayton, Ohio.
December 31, 1998 we moved to our present location at 1422
North Main Street, Dayton, Ohio. . . . and the dream goes
on. We have been empowered to go on in the “Spirit of
Excellence” to build our new edifice on 81 acres of
land at 4882 Germantown Pike, Jefferson Township, Dayton,
Ohio.
